It's been quite a journey!
In February of 2013 I was sitting alone in a hotel room in Thailand, broke but fairly content, wondering what I was going to do with my life.
Three years earlier my mother had suddenly died of breast cancer, completely changing my life forever. I left my job and my massage school and moved to Washington State to be with my sister and dad. There, I finished massage school, studied with and graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I became a Certified Holistic Health Coach, got married, moved to Seattle, discovered blogging, minimalism, and lifestyle design, and launched my first health coaching business.
My husband and I then realized that our dream of traveling the world was suddenly within our reach, so after a year of planning and saving and selling or donating nearly all of our possessions, we took off and spent eight life-changing months traveling together in Oregon, California, Hawaii, and Australia.
It was in Australia where we decided that we wanted to go in different directions - literally and figuratively. We lovingly set each other free and I took off for Thailand.
After a few weeks' worth of contemplation and mango smoothies, I decided that I wanted to return to the US and to my favorite city in the world - my beloved Portland, Oregon.
And so I came back home with a car full of all of my possessions, no job, and no place to live.
I got to start completely over.
Within a week I had a place to live and within a month I had a job and a new passion - acroyoga! I spent a blissful summer learning how to do new, acrobatic things with my body, but with autumn came a case of pneumonia that left me bedridden and unable to work for a month.
My financial reality suddenly hit me like a train. I was deep in debt from my travels with no way out and stuck in a stressful job that paid too little. I gained 25 pounds, and fell into a depression.
And, as always, the challenge held a gift in its hand: my own self-empowerment.
Prince Charming wasn't coming, so it was time to save myself.
I wanted to get back to the healthy, shiny, happy Zoe that I knew was still inside, but I felt so stuck.
And then I realized that I had to start by taking one step at a time. I already had everything that I needed inside of me, I just needed to move forward, even if I began by crawling.
I learned how to take back my life
First, I reached out and got help.
I figured out exactly what I needed to do to get a new job, and did it. At the same time, I magically - and immediately - attracted new love into my life.
I turned my finances around and finally lost the extra 25 pounds that had been weighing me down.
I discovered strength that I didn't know I possessed, and a passionate love for life that fuels me every day.
I can't wait to share this with you!
Now I am back at my ideal healthy weight and absolutely love my body.
I am in an amazing, supportive, loving partnership.
I have a great job that I enjoy.
And I'm so excited to be re-launching my coaching practice to help women take back their lives and release their inner BADASSES!
I know that every single part of your life is essential to your well-being
I love food and nutrition and physical fitness. I can geek out about these topics for hours, and I often do.
I also know from personal experience, as well as my training at IIN, that they are the tip of the iceberg in terms of your overall, total health.
Your health comprises every aspect of your life, including your relationships with others, your money story, your environment, your creative expression, your connection with the divine, your thoughts, your passion for life, and your relationship with yourself.
Why I do what I do
I get the BIGGEST RUSH out of helping other women take control of their own lives and make them extraordinary.
It's like white-water rafting, rock climbing, and my first kiss, all rolled into one fantastic experience of connection with another divine human.
I love bringing my whole self to the table in every session and interaction, walking my talk and constantly challenging myself to live in accordance with my values and to be an inspiration to my clients!
I want to help you make your life amazing!
So let's do it! I can't wait to help you up-level your life in every way. Let's figure out exactly where you are (it might surprise you), what you want to bring into your life (dream big!), and start taking the steps to help you create the body and life that you desire.
